Praise the Lord!!! Hello, all my name is Minister Terrye Kates-Asher.  I am the wife of Minister Zoe Asher for 30yrs.  We have 2 sons & 6 grandchildren together.   I have always had a love and desire to work with children.   I have attended San Diego, City College where I received my Associates degree in Child development, finished at Southwest College in Winfield Kansas with a BA in Youth Ministries.
I am currently working with USD259 where I've worked for 18 years. I worked at the St. Stephens Nursery School in San Diego, CA. under the leadership of Bishop George McKinney for 4 years.
I taught Sunday school, work with the praise dancers, and was involved with the youth ministry at Tabernacle Bible Church-"The Church Without Walls" in Wichita Kansas under the leadership of Pastor Lincoln Montgomery for approximately 20 years.
For the past 21/2 years I have attended Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in Wichita Kansas under the leadership of Pastor Roosevelt D. Deshazer where I am the Youth Minister.
I am working with the youth for Women with a Purpose, our "Next Generation."

I graduated with my Master of Social Work degree from Washington University in St. Louis. I have always felt called to serve others since I was a young girl.
As a child I volunteered at the church "Bible Hour" teaching bible lessons to younger children. I attended Abilene Christian University in 2008 and this was a life changing experience for me.
I have traveled to over 9 countries. I also served as a Peace Corps from 2012-2014 in the South Pacific.
Currently, I'm serving as a foster-adoption worker, working with foster families and foster youth, in Palms Dale, California, and phone counseling in different states.
I hope to continue to make a difference in the lives of others, in hopes of getting my LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) and PhD in the future.
I have joined together with the youth ministry for Women with a Purpose, working with our "Next Generation." connecting with youth all over the world.

As our youth grow from a baby into teenage years,
1. we teach them, education is important. Teaching them to grow and to be successful in every part of their lives.
2 We teach them about love, and how important it is to love one another.
3. We teach them  to value themselves for who they are. All of our children are special and they deserve to know that.
4. Teaching them to love and to value themselves starting at an early age is very important.
5. Helping them to discover their talent and their gifts, and to use them for God's glory.

The streets will try to claim them no matter what ethnic background they come from.
As a youth Director, my life is dedicated to help every young person that God put in my path.

All children are special. Proverbs 22:6, "Train up a child the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."

Uplifting words remind us that vulnerability isn’t a weakness but a strength that fosters personal and spiritual growth. This statement reflects the belief that empowering women not only changes individual lives but also strengthens communities and drives global progress.
